We as Floral Designers love weddings no matter the weather!
Last summer we had the pleasure of bringing to life, the floral vision of S & B for their Elegant Vancouver City Wedding. Here, the gorgeous couple took advantage of the mist falling over the Vancouver harbour and you can absolutely see that pure wedding bliss on their faces! We love that West Coast style that embraces the elements. Photographed by Lucida Photography at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, this newlywed couple just glows.
S & B opted for a modern and elegant, yet still traditional fresh floral style. We used soft ivories, creams, a touch of blush and white mixed with lots natural flowing greenery. The Bridal bouquet and Bridesmaid bouquets feature: blush and white peonies, cream Vendela roses, the absolutely coveted White O’Hara garden rose, eucalyptus, long and draping italian ruscus, queen anne’s lace, phlox flowers, astilbe and even some rosemary. The addition of the more wild flowers alongside the full petal blooms like peonies (that we all love so much!) brings texture and that airy, flowy feeling to the bouquets. We love this style!!!
The Bridal bouquet itself is the now trending Cascading bouquet with those full petal filled blooms, some more wild style flowers and very natural styled greenery. With “Greenery” as the Pantone colour of the year for 2017, we hope to see more Brides like B embracing this picture of modern yet elegant bridal bouquet styles. Cascades have been around for a long time (very famously carried by Princess Diana on her wedding day in the 1980s). This style is back and we’re so excited about it!
