I know what you’re thinking. Tropical AND Nautical? thats crazy…… Think again!

This summer we worked with J & A to pull together very unique florals to blend with their nautical theme. While we absolutely love a traditional white and blush bouquet, we were up for a challenge to make something a little different. This bridal bouquet takes my breath away! We stuck to whites and greens, with a definite focus on the ‘greens’. We used several different types of tropical leaves, ferns, white peonies, tuberose flowers, large white anthuriums, and those large green bits are lotus pods. This layering of different tropical foliage, tropical blooms and some big petal blooms like peonies added incredible dimension and texture. The effect is stunning!

The bridesmaids’s bouquets are also natural styled with a focus on the greenery and tropical flowers, but we added some lisianthus and eucalyptus. The boutonierres are made from the tiny yet fragrant tuberose blossoms.

The ceremony and reception were both held at one of favourite places: The Pipe Shop in North Vancouver. The couple wanted special attention to detail to bring their nautical theme to life, and we of course applied that to our floral work. The for the tables we layered greenery (mostly dollar eucalyptus and Italian ruscus) to create that coveted garland centrepiece look. To match the wedding ceremony arch, we fastened small sprigs of the dollar eucalyptus down the aisle of  chairs to serve as delicate pew markers.

This white and green wedding arch with the same tropical greens, white anthurium and peonies as the bridal bouquet mixed together with the dollar eucalyptus turned out so incredible! Its very different from any typical wedding arch but still so romantic and flattering. It’s perfect for a modern couple that still want gorgeous fresh florals that are not too feminine looking.
